FAITH CIRCLE MISSIONS
BETHLEHEM CENTER
Bethlehem Center of Charlotte is a non-profit organization working with low-income children and families in fragile communities, providing educational opportunities to improve their lives.
The last two years, the Faith Circle has been involved with the Bethlehem Center in Charlotte. We have helped with the purchase of Thanksgiving Blessing Bags. Our members took time out of their busy schedules to help those in need and participated in the packing of over 300 grocery bags full of donated food that would later give families a Thanksgiving meal they would not have had otherwise. What a blessing to be involved. We donated money and time but we were gifted with the joy of helping others in need. Learn more at www.bethlehemcenter.org
FAITH CIRCLE SANTA’S
The Faith Circle reaches out to the church and the community to find a family in need of a Santa for Christmas. Each year, we use funds from our consignment earnings to go shopping for several families. During our shopping sprees, we are able to purchase items like tricycles, toys, clothes, gift cards and shoes for all. The fellowship our members spend with each other during these trips is wonderful but the thought of helping families is priceless. Together we wrap each gift with care and pray that the spirit that moved us to help was with them on Christmas morning. “Jesus is Alive”
A CHILDS’S PLACE
A Child's Place works to erase the impact of homelessness on children and their education. In June 2010 it was confirmed that 4,453 children in CMS were homeless. A Child’s place is an organization that helps supplement food for these children. In May 2011 the Faith Circle helped in a small way by purchasing, decorating and packing 50 snack bags that were later delivered to children locally in need. Learn more go at www.achildsplace.org
LUNCHES OF LOVE
The Faith Circle was approached by a church member/school system employee. We learned there were many elementary school children in our area that were lacking nutritional food during the weekends and school holidays. So in 2009, 2010, and 2011 the Faith Circle started ‘Lunches of Love’ to help fill the needs for a few of these children. The Faith Circle purchased food each year and volunteers within our group would tenderly pack and deliver to the school representative. The lunches were packed with love……hence ‘Lunches of Love’.
